It stores all the strategic customer information generated along the entire value chain in one place, connecting data and business metrics in real time to improve loyalty, increase customer retention and maximize revenue.

SAP hybris is an earlier version of SAP's customer experience product suite, which since 2020 has been known as SAP Customer Experience or SAP CX.


SAP started laying the groundwork for SAP Customer Experience in 2013, when it acquired Hybris, an e-commerce software provider. The first called "SAP Hybris," a solution that co-existed with SAP CRM. With the advent of SAP S/4HANA in 2015, SAP moved lines of business to this new platform.


Following the acquisition of several third-party CRM software, in 2018 SAP announced the SAP C/4HANA solution, which ran on the SAP S/4HANA platform and consisted of five key pillars: commerce, marketing, revenue, sales and service. In 2020, SAP C/4HANA was renamed SAP Customer Experience.

SAP C/4HANA is the name by which the SAP Customer Experience suite was previously known. The "C" refers to customers, the "4" is because it is a 4th generation CRM and "HANA" refers to the relationship between the cloud, databases and services.
