2003 – 2004
Making a Difference from the Start: IriTec and COMEX Integración
In 2003, COMEX Integración was founded, an outsourcing and IT services company that quickly stood out as a trusted technology partner for key businesses and public institutions in the Aragón region.
In 2004, IriTec was established, quickly gaining recognition for its innovative approach and rapid growth. Over the years, IriTec received numerous awards and honors within the tech industry, including certifications and distinctions such as Empresa CEEI Aragón, IT Mart, and SoftAragón Premium.

2007 - 2010
A commitment to specialization: launching subsidiaries and proprietary solutions
IriTec began developing specialized business areas by launching its first two subsidiaries: IriTec Sistemas, which later became hiberus’ Systems division and Ovooe, an advanced IP telephony platform
Applying its tech expertise to market needs, IriTec launched three proprietary solutions: Atenea, Gisir, and Tributalia. As part of this focus on specialization, the company also created a digital business development unit that would play a key role in its future evolution.

2011
IriTec, COMEX Integración, Grupo Henneo, and Grupo La Información Create hiberus
In November 2011, IriTec and COMEX Integración merged with the vision of forming a leading tech consultancy, backed by strategic partners Grupo Henneo and Grupo La Información.
A new chapter began: hiberus was born.

2013 – 2015
New Initiatives, growth, and expansion
In the following years, hiberus and all its business units continued to grow and expand.
Several leading companies in their respective sectors were acquired, strengthening hiberus’ service portfolio and market position. Additionally, the TravelIO technology solution was spun off to Amadeus due to its strong growth potential, with hiberus becoming a partner through the creation of hiberus Travel.
New offices were opened in Spain, Mexico, and Colombia, and the company diversified its service offerings to include new areas such as digital marketing, omnichannel solutions, big data, and cybersecurity.
The team grew to 500 employees, leading to the creation of the Talent area, focused on attracting top talent and developing skills and competencies within the company.
In response to the company’s innovative spirit, hiberus Emprende was established, along with the founding of La Terminal, a space designed to foster entrepreneurship. Moreover, hiberus invested in launching its own digital businesses, including Zaquia, Franchise Resources, and Up and Scrap.



2017 – 2019
Opening new offices in Spain and expanding subsidiaries across Europe and Latin America
hiberus continued its expansion by opening new offices in several Spanish cities and establishing subsidiaries in London (UK) and Berlin (Germany) to strengthen its business development across Europe.
Additionally, hiberus partnered with Xalok to create the leading media platform for Spain and Latin America. This collaboration led to the launch of hiberus Media Labs, which now serves clients in over 10 countries and operates offices in Zaragoza, Madrid, Miami, and Buenos Aires.
The company also formed a strategic partnership with 451.legal to provide specialized legal advisory services in technology, and collaborated with Bioingenia to launch traceability programs for the agri-food sector.
A key initiative during this period was the launch of hiberus University, a digital skills training program designed to prepare individuals for professional careers in the ICT sector and support talent development within hiberus.



2020 – 2021
Launching Initiatives in response to COVID-19 and new training programs
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, hiberus launched IMPULSA, an initiative to support companies in their transition to e-commerce. The company also created the #ZGZAYUDA platform, replicated in several cities, which gathered and promoted community-led solidarity efforts during the health crisis.
hiberus continued its international expansion by opening a new office in Milan, Italy, and re-acquiring hiberus Travel.
The hiberus University introduced its flagship program, Heroes & Heroines, designed to train professionals in high-demand technologies. In just one week after its launch, the program received over 2,000 applications.

2022
Celebrating 10 Years, reaching 1,500 employees, and launching hiberus Summer Fest
After years of rapid growth, hiberus celebrated hiring its 1,500th team member with a surprise event.
To mark its 10-year anniversary, the company hosted hiberus Summer Fest, a major corporate event that brought together employees from across all its locations. hiberus also launched the “Looking for Future” initiative in partnership with the Zaragoza City Council, aimed at hiring tech professionals displaced by the war in Ukraine.
The company organized DrupalCamp 2022 and was recognized for business excellence, receiving the Liferay Partner of the Year award.
hiberus closed 2022 with a 48% increase in revenue compared to 2021, reaching €92 million in total revenue and surpassing 2,100 employees.

2023
A Commitment to creating value and growing by helping others grow
2023 marked a year of consolidation for hiberus - of our culture, hub structure, and international strategy.
The year began with the Alcaraz Plan, focused on strengthening leadership, company culture, and international expansion. Key events like eShow Zaragoza and hiberus Summer Fest helped reinforce our corporate identity. A major challenge arose shortly after Summer Fest with a critical cyberattack, which was handled swiftly and transparently, without impacting operations.
The final quarter of the year marked a turning point, with a strategic reorganization, significant progress in artificial intelligence, and major international expansion in Latin America, with new teams established in Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina, and Mexico. Key sectors such as Banking & Insurance, Media, Travel, and Industry drove sustained growth, helping to position hiberus as a trusted partner in high-value projects and global markets.

2024
A year of global expansion and technological leadership
2024 was a transformational year for hiberus, marked by strong international expansion and significant growth across all markets and business areas. Under the theme "To Be Continued," introduced at hiberus Summer Fest, we reaffirmed our commitment to a sustainable and purpose-driven growth model, in contrast to the short-term mindset often seen in the tech sector.
International expansion was a core focus, solidifying our presence in Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina, Poland, and Switzerland, while also strengthening our foothold in the United States and Northern Europe. The launch of the hiberus Mobility Hub in Madrid stood as a symbol of our dynamic growth.
On the technology front, we achieved major milestones in DXP, Data & Intelligence, and QA. Our work was recognized at global events such as Liferay Inspire and awarded by industry leaders like Snowflake and AWS, further cementing our position as a technology leader. Our commitment to equality and education also advanced through initiatives led by the hiberus Foundation, including Tech x Change and Etopia Kids.
Finally, our Financial Services, Industry, Travel, Media, and Public Sector divisions experienced outstanding growth.
